赫伯特·马尔库塞（Herbert Marcuse,1898—1979） 美籍德裔哲学家。在弗赖堡大学攻读博士学位期间，师从存在主义创始者海德格尔。1932年开始先后在法兰克福社会研究所、美国哥伦比亚大学社会研究所、华盛顿战略研究局、哥伦比亚大学俄国研究所、哈佛大学俄国研究中心从事研究工作。1954—1976年先后在布兰代斯大学、加利福尼亚大学任教。 马尔库塞是法兰克福学派的主要代表人物之一，也是西方马克思主义最激进的代表人物，“弗洛伊德主义的马克思主义”的集大成者，“爱欲解放论”的奠基人。
